Streamline LS Newsletter - October 2023

Dear subscriber,

Welcome to our October 2023 newsletter.  September was another very productive month for our product development.

At the moment, most of these updates relate to what we’re doing with the software.  So, if you’re interested in the new features that are coming down the pipe, please read on.

Release v0.5.3 Deployed

Software version v0.5.3 has been deployed to the production servers and is now actively being used by landlords and property managers.  The main features that have been added are:

  1. Profit & Loss Reports – P&L reports are a common financial report needed to communicate the total profits to property owners.  This report is automatically generated each month.  The property manager can review the report, make any necessary changes, and then publish the report.  Once published, the property owner will be able to review the report.
  1. TVR Quick Check – Some landlords and property managers will prefer to send a link to the prospect/tenant for them to fill out the information necessary for their Tenant Verification Report (TVR).  However, the PM may want to take matters into their own hands and submit the information for them.  Results come back within minutes.  We’ll have a video on how to do this for the next newsletter.
  1. CSV Import Upgrades – These are some general updates to make the CSV import system more robust, as well as the ability to upload Excel files as well.
  1. Maximum File Size for Uploads – In a Rental Agreement, you can attach documents.  Previously, the maximum file size for these documents was 4 MB.  We have changed that to 100 MB.  This was in response to some landlords wanting to upload picture/video files in a zip archive for a property inspection.

Release v0.5.4 in Development

Software version v0.5.4 is still in active development.  We’re hoping to move to the testing phase in October, and this should be deployed soon after.  Right now, the main feature is:

  1. Team Member Accounts – A property manager (or landlord) may have multiple people who need access to their account.  Therefore, to avoid credential sharing, we are creating team member accounts.  The property manager will be able to create and manage team members.  Team members will have access to everything in the account other than creating more team members.

Penetration Testing

We have begun to do some penetration testing on our system.  This is to ensure that your data is secure and goes above and beyond the latest security standards.  Protection of your data is something that we take very seriously at StreamlineLS.  And doing a thorough pen test from time to time helps us ensure that.

Parting Thoughts

I’m pretty excited to have v0.5.3 released.  That release was a tough one, as we kept finding little things we wanted to fix or small features to add.  But the reality is, we have to focus on delivering the items that add big value to our platform.  That’s why we’ll be continuing to work on the DocuSign integration over the next couple of months.  It’s easy to get distracted by the small things that are right in front of us, but keeping our eyes fixed squarely on where we’re going, in the long run, is the most important thing.  See you next month!
