Dear subscriber,
Welcome to our August 2023 newsletter. Given that we’re in the summer months and we’ve had some staff members on vacation, this month was a little bit slower. However, things are still moving along with creating the world’s finest property management software.
From a high level, we are fine tuning our software platform based on feedback from experts in the industry.
Release v0.5.2 is Scheduled for Deployment
Software version v0.5.2 has passed our newly developed rigorous set of tests. In the last couple of months, we have been trying out a new system for organizing and managing the tests that we execute on the software, prior to releasing. This is much more comprehensive than how we did things previously.
It took a little bit of extra time, and we found a few more defects than we were expecting, but the end result is an even more rock-solid version of our software to help you with your business. Making our software more dependable make everyone’s lives easier.
This release is being scheduled for Friday, August 11th.
I won’t go in to all the details (you can find them in the July newsletter), but the following features are included in this release:
- Mark Bank Account as Trust Account
- Mark One-Time Transaction as Income
- Warning for Inflight Transaction When Modifying Monthly Rent
Release v0.5.3 Development Nearing Completion
Our work on this release is almost done, and hopefully we’ll be able to schedule the release sometime in late August. We haven’t finalized the list of features that we’re adding, but this is what it looks like at the moment:
- Profit and Loss Reports
- CSV Import Enhancements
- Expense Record – Attach Photo
- Update Monthly Rent from Rental Agreement Page
These were also in the July newsletter if you’d like more details on these features.
New Feature: TVR Push
We’re looking at adding one more feature, called TVR Push. This feature will allow a Landlord or Property Manager (LL/PM) to submit a prospect’s information on their behalf for a Tenant Verification Report (TVR). At the moment, only the background check and credit report will be available (so, no enhanced ID verification).
The advantage of this is that the LL/PM can submit the information themselves and get a response back within minutes. This way you don’t need to wait for your prospect to do this. As we all know, people get busy and forget, so this way you can take matters into your own hands.
As a LL/PM, you will need to make sure you have written permission to execute a background/credit check. We will be doing spot checks to ensure that you have all the proper documentation. However, this is the responsibility of the LL/PM.
This feature may go out in v0.5.3. If not, it’ll get moved into v0.5.4.
Release v0.5.4 Development Started
Some development work has started on software version 0.5.4. At the moment, we’re targeting a September release date. The primary feature that will be included in this is called Team Accounts. I will write some more detail on this next month. However, in short: as a Landlord or Property Manager, other people will need access to your account. These could be staff members who work for your company, or a realtor who does unit showings for you. This feature will allow you to grant access, and set permissions for what they’re able to do with your account.
Parting Thoughts
The next few months involve us keeping our heads down to continue developing the best product that we can. In the background we are having conversations regarding potential partnerships with other companies in the space. We’ll keep you posted on any new developments!
In the meantime, have a wonderful August, and I’ll see you in September.
